The universe of sounds from Gianca Liano's music sails between contemporary classical, soundscape, filmscoring and ambient.
Gianca Liano composes music that is considered "meta-paesaggistica", writing in his scores musical ideas that relate to the world of soundscape. His projects of contemporary classical music develop mainly in Italy, Guatemala and Costa Rica. Since 2023 has become artistic director of the project Musica Randagia, a series of concerts that brings contemporary classical music in dialogue with urban culture in the heart of Milan. Founder of the interdisciplinary ensemble of contemporary art "Centro Ensamble" (Guatemala City), moreover has collaborated with cultural institutions such as Accademia della Voce del Piemonte (Turín, Italia), Associazione Rive Gauche Concerti (Turín, Italia), Museo del Paesaggio Sonoro (Riva presso Chieri, Italia), Orquesta Sinfónica de Heredia (Heredia, Costa Rica), Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica (San José, Costa Rica), Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Costa Rica (San José, Costa Rica) and the Sistema de Orquestas de Guatemala (Guatemala City, Guatemala).
On 2013 his work for the film "12 Segundos" was awarded at the "Ícaro Film Festival" for best original score (Guatemala City). Liano is actively working filmscoring projects for films, series, theatre and videogames.
Among his most relevant publications is the EP "Cuatro Paisajes con Carretera, y un Momento Espiritual" (2023) and his three albums "Ixkik', Ricomposizioni" (2023), "Opus Cero" (2019) and "Una Niña Llamada Ana / Banda Sonora Original para Teatro" (2017).
Developed his skills as an arts manager at the Master in Arts Management and Administration at the SDA Bocconi. Studied at the Conservatorio di Musica "Giuseppe Verdi" di Milano (2020 - 2022), with maestro Riccardo Piacentini, Gabriele Manca, Martin Matalon, David del Puerto and Barry Truax; at the Universidad de Costa Rica (2013 -2017) completes his studies with maestro Carlos Castro y Vladislav Soifer; at the Accademia Chigiana (2012) specializes on filmscoring with maestro Luis Bacalov.
On 2020 exercised as the coordinator for the Licenciatura en Composición y Producción Musical at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. His main area is music theory, teaching courses at the Universidad del Valle del Guatemala and Universidad Panamericana since 2018.
Between 2019 and 2020 served as part of the board for the Sistema de Orquestas de Guatemala, supporting the music development of hundreds of teenagers at Guatemala City.
